Attack on Pearl Harbor - Game Review (PC)

Print During this time, US pose as Switzerland and remain neutral. But not for long. The Japanese, part of the Axis, decide to strengthen their position in the Pacific and attack the US base at Pearl Harbor. But all they managed was to awake a sleeping dragon, their worst nightmare.
The game allows you to play with both sides. Choosing to play as either a Japanese or American pilot, you'll follow the story of a single air force member from start to finish. You will be given the opportunity to play the real battles over the South Pacific in your struggle to decimate the Japanese or to counterattack the Americans. From time to time, the story will be revealed to you through some comic book drawings, trying to create a bond between the player and his character.
The drawings are funny and try to capture the atmosphere from those times. Little details capture your attention and captive you into the story. I guess that they managed to accomplish a serious thing: to give you a glimpse of the horrors from those days but in a way that it's "digestible".

The revenge
Playing as the Americans, you will have to choose your heroes' name and play a short tutorial mission. The game's interface is very easy to understand and there aren't as many controls as most flight simulators. The game was intended as a funny and easy to play game and it manages to accomplish that.
You will start you real combat campaign with an attempt to hold off the Japanese invaders and to protect your ships stationed in Pearl Harbor. After this, you start to fight at Guadacanal, Iwo Jima, torpedo the Japanese transport ships, gain air superiority and even use the Dauntless dive bombers to take care of the enemy carriers and battleships. The missions vary and several times you will be able to choose which mission to play from a maximum of 3 available.
You will be able to fly P40 Warhawk as fighters, SBD Dauntless as dive bombers and torpedoes launcher in bombing mission under cover of darkness, or whether it be sinking approaching ships using torpedoes, not to mention the intense dogfights where most of the time you will face more opponents that you can handle. All this ensures a certain amount of adrenaline as you must stay alive, avoid as much as possible being hit and making sure you exterminate the opponents.
