Tge wait for Bayonetta is almost over - News

Print In the week that SEGA of Japan releases the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3
action game Bayonetta, SEGA Europe Ltd. and SEGA of America Inc. can
reveal that the perfectly rated and eagerly anticipated third person
action title will be the first genuine triple A of 2010. Offering
exclusive pre-order items for the western market, Bayonetta goes on
sale in the US on January 5th and across Europe on January 8th 2010.
This week sees the launch of Bayonetta in Japan, following the recently published New Game Cross Review in the November 5th 2009 issue of Japan's most respected games magazine, Weekly Famitsu. The game achieved a perfect score of 40/40 for Xbox 360 and 38/40 for PlayStation 3, with both scores garnering a Platinum award. Bayonetta is only the 12th game ever to receive a perfect score in the magazine's history since its first issue in 1986.

Japan and the rest of the world. PlatinumGames set out to deliver a
game that redefines the 3D action genre, and we feel that they have set
a benchmark for future games in the genre to aspire to," said Mike
Hayes, CEO of SEGA America & SEGA Europe. "We chose a January ship
date for Bayonetta as we firmly believe that it is the best time for
SEGA and our retail partners to launch this exciting new IP in the
West, and push for a number #1 retail slot. Bayonetta is a huge title
for us and the perfect start for the New Year, both for SEGA and gamers
across Europe and America."
Bayonetta created a huge buzz at this year's E3 where it was critically acclaimed by the press, picking up numerous best of show nominations and ultimately winning 1Up.com's Best Action Game of the convention. From the creators of Devil May Cry and Resident Evil comes the free flowing over-the-top action of Bayonetta. Play as Bayonetta, a witch with powers beyond the comprehension of mere mortals and face-off against countless enemies, evil forces and giant sized bosses in a game of 100% pure adrenaline fuelled all-out action.

The 13 missions spread story explains what happened to the Brotherhood of Nod right after the Second Tiberium War, and fill the history gap left by the original Command and Conquer 3. And then of course some more, the action takes us a bit more into the future, showing just a sneak peak of the shape of things to come.

Sins of a Solar Empire
The stellar "Sins of a Solar Empire" hits our PCs with a unique interesting new combination of game genres and a few cool ideas that should draw the attention of quite a few strategy fans. The newcomer Ironclad Games managed the impossible and created a competitive title indeed. But aside from all the prays and high marks this game received overall, its approach on RTS and the mix of elements it brings, one can find some things that will bother a few players and that will eventually influence the grades of this review. Ok, let's take it from the top.

Silent Hunter 4: Pacific U-Boat Missions
I thought a bit about how to start this. While saying that Silent Hunter IV is the best submarine simulator out there is true, it doesn't mean much, especially for new players. Saying it is one of the best simulator games out there is again accurate, but again, a bit of an understatement. Why? Well because... despite the high complexity and realism involved, Ubisoft Romania managed to develop a game that is appealing to the beginners as well, in a certain degree.

GC: Disciples 3: Renaissance
We were able to take part in 2 battles and what we saw pleased us. The transition to the 3D helped the game and gave it a better view on the battlefield. You can move the camera and this way you get a better look at the action. The units are amazing and their animations are clean and good looking. Same goes for spells and effects: you will love what you see.

Race 07
So here I am back on the road with a BMW. This time in Race 07 demo. The only racing-simulation game that really impressed me at GC. But only with the help of the Steam client which probably will become the "god" of online distribution! Anyway a big minus for this decision of playing the game only through Steam.
