15 Feb 2007 - A new begining

After trying to convince my colleagues that this was a good idea, after pressuring some of them to make the blogs work, after a few thoughts about my death they might of had in their sleep, I can now finally write these lines.

No, it's not a new beginning in World of Warcraft, I have to confess I already have a level 70 mage. Guilty! But I really do not have the patience in starting another character, and I will do so whenever I feel comfortable, since I play this game for fun. No hard feelings! Instead, it's a new beginning for the blogs here at Games32.

Before you say: “Mage - ZOMG lame, get a lock noob” or anything else like that I must tell you that I absolutely love my mage, and I think it's the best class for me. I will happily play my mage before any other class. It is all a matter of opinion after all - fun for doesn't necessarily come when I win all the time, or when it's easy.

Ok, so I guess I will start with what I did today. I didn't play at work, because I am still working on a review for “Desperate Housewives” and another for “Lineage II”. By the way, it turns out that contrary to my belief, “Desperate Housewives” is not a cheap “Sims” clone. In fact, the Sim aspect, as well as some mini games are there as a secondary thing. I could actually fit this game more in the category of Quest/RPG actually. It is intriguing to say the least.

Oh well, but back to our main subject. My mage is playing in a cool guild called “Pub Shock”. I know, it's a horrible name - lol. And it's a long history. I am thinking if I should tell you more today, or some other time. Naaah, I'll leave it for later. Anyway, the guild is a casual one, meaning no (or not too much) hardcore players. Most of them are over 20 years old and a job - you get the main idea. www.pubshock.com there - hidden advertising *hint hint*.

Details, details... get back to the POINT! Right! (There is no point, this is a blog... the point is you are waisting time and reading instead of doing something that matters...).

I usually get home from work at 6:15-6:30 PM. After grabbing some food, I got into the game. The gaming experience has not been so good lately, as I temporarily switched my 6800GT video card for an FX5600: I am upgrading my PC and still waiting for my new system to arrive. While I thought PvP experience wasn't going to be that good at 10 frames per second (the arenas don't open till tomorrow and no one is doing any PvP anyway), an good instance could be all I needed.

Botanica was its name, the first instance in Tempest Keep, Netherstorm Area. My mage is a human female, by the name of Mydarkangel - don't ask! Basically we needed the key to get into Arcatraz, the next instance there. I like Botanica: the drops are ok, and the monsters are humanoids. Along with me came Serafina - the Warlock Guild Master that doesn't want to be one, but has to; Lassie - our Priest Class Leader who happens to be Serafina's wife (coincidence? I think NOT lol! She is from Scotland, and in charge with the guild bank as well, so you can see why guild money and items are in safe hands); Illian - the Paladin Class Leader, one of the nicest persons ever, that never speaks on TeamSpeak (he just types and listens) and is always ALWAYS lagging/disconnecting. Finally, from Asia, with the power of Wind comes.... erm, sorry... what I meant that our tank was Mr. Starchaser - feral druid.

As I said, i really like the instance, and we managed to kill the first boss with no problem. But for some strange reason, there was no way in the world we could take the second boss: High Botanist Freywinn. It's the annoying boss that summons plants around him from time to time, then he turns into a tree and regenerates all health.

Oh waaaaay, I just got Hortus' Seal of Brilliance from the last boss in Shattered Halls yaaaay. Oh sorry, it slipped... I was talking about last night. Where was I? Oh yeah! Evil Botanist Freywinn. Now, I was there before with a party, and had no troubles whatsoever. So it remains a mystery why the boss kept healing himself to 100% each time, no matter how fast we killed the adds, or if we dragged them out of range. We asked our Warrior Class Leader - Finnbar who previously tanked this boss just an hour before with another group to give some advice. After some discussions over TeamSpeak, Mr Starchaser - feral druid, was kind enough to let Uncle Finnbar - the “Old Man” (we call him that way because he can be your grandfather) come and tank for us. After another hour of wipes, and four times when I thanked that I got invisibility, we decided that he was bugged, and we should go on... Nasty! Bah, he can only drop some caster gloves anyway, and I have the Marshal ones...

We cleared everything fast including the third boss. I can't remember what he dropped, could of been Shaman loot... Anyway, we decided to call it a night after that, since me and Finnbar wanted to go to bed. After all I have to write all this nonsense now, so you can just ignore the blog section anyway.

Well that's about it, see you guys later... buh bye!

18 years have passed since the original King's Bounty was launched by New World Computing and now, finally, a remake has surfaced, from Katauri Interactive. Disney Interactive Studios decided to take a major turn in their usual games style by creating something different, something that if you consider, cannot even stand besides the Disney name. Like in Star Trek, Crytek decided they should have an all race, gender and color policy when choosing their main hero, but without having anything against that I have to congratulate them for the choice in this second game. They've managed through storytelling, smart dialogs and more action-oriented gameplay to create a strong character with James Bond-ish features. He's cool, doesn't lose his calm, has a witty remark for everything and knows how to blow things up. Maybe he even drinks martinis, we're not sure yet.  [...]
