It's an amazing thing that actually The Farm 51 were able to create a prequel to their old-school zombie shooter in this hard times when even a blockbuster creator like Infinty Ward (for instance) are on the brink of collapse. But I assume the zombies' subject is still a popular and cheap element to exploit. Most videogames featuring large scale battles involving hefty fleets colliding in space, perceive the initial setup as nothing more then a prelude for the actual combat. Gratuitous Space Battles on the other hand focuses entirely on designing and deploying a balanced armada that is capable of annihilating the enemy fleet on its own.
