F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Armored Front map pack coming May 21 - News

Print Beginning May 21, F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin fans will be able to
download the new "Armored Front" map pack for a whole new multiplayer
experience for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from
Microsoft and PlayStation®Network for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer
entertainment system. The Armored Front Map Pack consists of two maps,
Decoy and Conductor, as well as four unique character heads to swap out.
• Conductor Map: Push your way out of a train yard into the vast and open-ended junction station built around a turntable. EPAs will battle their way through the ground floor, as infantry can choose to either support from below or scale the heights of the station and engage in long-range combat.
• Decoy Map:
Put your skill to the test in this full-scale training ground for
Replica soldiers! Once a controlled arena for combat exercises, now it
is under a full-blown assault for control between Replica and ATC.
Watch out for ambushes, and don't let the pop-up target dummies fool
you!
In F.E.A.R.2: Project Origin a routine assignment to locate the president of Armacham Technology Corporation in connection with an unfolding hostage crisis turns into a desperate battle for survival after an explosion decimates the city and unleashes Alma Wade, the terrifying supernatural menace at the center of Armacham's highly classified Project Origin. As Alma's power swells out of control, special forces Sgt. Michael Becket and his squad must battle through an apocalyptic landscape of shattered buildings and buckled streets in search of clues for how to destroy her. The more Becket learns about Armacham's secret experiments and reckless agenda, the more he begins to suspect that he's somehow linked to the crisis and may be the only one capable of averting total disaster. F.E.A.R.2: Project Origin is rated "M" for Mature and is available now for Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3 and Games for Windows®.

Sins of a Solar Empire
The stellar "Sins of a Solar Empire" hits our PCs with a unique interesting new combination of game genres and a few cool ideas that should draw the attention of quite a few strategy fans. The newcomer Ironclad Games managed the impossible and created a competitive title indeed. But aside from all the prays and high marks this game received overall, its approach on RTS and the mix of elements it brings, one can find some things that will bother a few players and that will eventually influence the grades of this review. Ok, let's take it from the top.

Silent Hunter 4: Pacific U-Boat Missions
I thought a bit about how to start this. While saying that Silent Hunter IV is the best submarine simulator out there is true, it doesn't mean much, especially for new players. Saying it is one of the best simulator games out there is again accurate, but again, a bit of an understatement. Why? Well because... despite the high complexity and realism involved, Ubisoft Romania managed to develop a game that is appealing to the beginners as well, in a certain degree.

GC: Disciples 3: Renaissance
We were able to take part in 2 battles and what we saw pleased us. The transition to the 3D helped the game and gave it a better view on the battlefield. You can move the camera and this way you get a better look at the action. The units are amazing and their animations are clean and good looking. Same goes for spells and effects: you will love what you see.

So here I am back on the road with a BMW. This time in Race 07 demo. The only racing-simulation game that really impressed me at GC. But only with the help of the Steam client which probably will become the "god" of online distribution! Anyway a big minus for this decision of playing the game only through Steam.

Monolith's latest installment takes the fear factor to a whole different level, creating an oppressive atmosphere backed up by a consistent storyline and rock-solid gameplay. Newcomers and hardcore fans alike will have a reason to rejoice after immersing in the dark, fascinating universe of FEAR 2: Project Origin.
