Print By finding any location you use an electronic map with GPS sensor. The player actually will carry in his hands all these gadgets, and everytime he needs to locate an objective he has to holster the weapon and activate this map. Arriving at the designated location, the player can scan the area with the help of a small telescope and locate on the map all the strategical objectives (vehicles, security posts, sniper lookouts, etc). To increase the realistic touch, every first aid made on yourself consists in an animation showing different situations in which your character tries to cauterize his wounds, pull out bullets from his knees, feet or palms, or straighten his broken arms.
Although the story which stands at the core of this game is not very substantial, the dynamic gameplay and virtually unlimited world adds up to 100 hours of gameplay. And when you think that this is not enough you can carry on and try out the multiplayer which features many of the dynamic elements from the sigleplayer such as fire propagation and volumetric wind. A maximum of 16 players can join an online match in four modes: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Diamond (similar to Capture the Flag), and Uprising. The last mode tries to bring something new in the multiplayer by including a captain for each team. These captains have to capture designated points across the map. In the end any of the teams have to assassinate the enemy captain after capturing all the points on the map in order to win the match. Either you play online or offline in LAN matches, the mulitplayer is a class based one. It features six classes: Commando (normal soldier), Sharpshooter (specialized in long range shooting), Guerilla (specialized in close combat and ambush), Rebel (specialized in explosives and fire), Gunner (specialized in heavy power weapons), and Saboteur (specialized in stealth and silenced weapons). Like in singleplayer, in multi you can choose the appropriate weapon for every primary, secondary, and special slot. Every killed opponent or completed objective brings you diamonds which can be spent in acquiring new weapons or upgrades. But the most exquisite thing is that you can play matches on your own created maps.
The map editor features most of the objects present in the singleplayer, so every self created map will occupy a small amount of space on your harddrive and will be much faster loaded by the game. Using a very simple interface with high-end tools, the player can easily create maps for every multiplayer mode.
Conclusion
Far Cry 2 abandons many of the elements that made famous the first part and its add-ons. With the departure from the German developer Crytek Studios, Ubisoft decided to continue the franchise using an in-house studio and recreating the Far Cry universe. They definitely succeeded combining many successful elements from the best action and fps games, and with the help of a new graphical engine they were able to recreate a humongous African landscape. Many have compared this game with Crytek Studios last creation Crysis and its expansion. In terms of graphics the last one probably wins the battle, but in terms of gameplay Far Cry 2 is definitely the king. In my opinion this is the first open-world game that brings the most balanced gameplay represented by a very optimized A.I. suited for large scale landscapes. Delta Force series, goodbye!

Welcome back, LEGION. Indeed, Joe Kucan is back, portraying the legendary self-proclaimed prophet Kane, through 20 years of Command and Conquer history: past, present and future. The 13 missions spread story explains what happened to the Brotherhood of Nod right after the Second Tiberium War, and fill the history gap left by the original Command and Conquer 3. And then of course some more, the action takes us a bit more into the future, showing just a sneak peak of the shape of things to come.

The stellar "Sins of a Solar Empire" hits our PCs with a unique interesting new combination of game genres and a few cool ideas that should draw the attention of quite a few strategy fans. The newcomer Ironclad Games managed the impossible and created a competitive title indeed. But aside from all the prays and high marks this game received overall, its approach on RTS and the mix of elements it brings, one can find some things that will bother a few players and that will eventually influence the grades of this review. Ok, let's take it from the top.
Sherlock Holmes, the worlds` greatest detective, created by Arthur Conan Doyle is about to face his biggest challenge so far: Arsene Lupin, the worlds` greatest thief, created by Maurice Leblanc. Who is going to win this battle of wits? Who is going to be victorious, and, most importantly, who would you like to see as the winner?
I thought a bit about how to start this. While saying that Silent Hunter IV is the best submarine simulator out there is true, it doesn't mean much, especially for new players. Saying it is one of the best simulator games out there is again accurate, but again, a bit of an understatement. Why? Well because... despite the high complexity and realism involved, Ubisoft Romania managed to develop a game that is appealing to the beginners as well, in a certain degree.
Lineage II had it share of success. At the time the game was released, it was one of the most beautiful MMOG on the market. To take its place as the most beautiful MMOG, the Ragnarok Online (or RO) developers from imcGames created Sword of the New World: Granado Espada.
We were able to take part in 2 battles and what we saw pleased us. The transition to the 3D helped the game and gave it a better view on the battlefield. You can move the camera and this way you get a better look at the action. The units are amazing and their animations are clean and good looking. Same goes for spells and effects: you will love what you see.
Last week I began to search some new independent games. Suddenly I stumbled upon this interesting racing game called Nitro Stunt Racing. The title sounds non-original but the content tends to be if not original, at least interesting.
In a perfect world, everything is controlled by a balance between Chaos and Order. But what happens if things start to get messy and a great evil is about to unleash an epic conflict onto the universe? This is what NCsoft decided to unveil and also explain why Aion is a MMO bound to have success.
So here I am back on the road with a BMW. This time in Race 07 demo. The only racing-simulation game that really impressed me at GC. But only with the help of the Steam client which probably will become the "god" of online distribution! Anyway a big minus for this decision of playing the game only through Steam.
