Print While loading the game, you will see several hints, one of them being the more-than-obvious "talk to everyone" advice. I would have gladly done that, since I`m a big "Lost" fan, but the dumb dialogue system totally erased this desire and instead I ignored the other castaways for the majority of the game. One character you will have to talk to, whether you like it or not, is Sawyer, a.k.a. "the local K-Mart". Yes, that`s right, Sawyer is nothing more than a vending machine in this game, and reducing one of my favorite characters from the show into this, is a serious no-no. You do have the possibility of talking to him, but he will just shoo you away, usually.
So, in the end, the characters from the show are there, but talking to them is a big waste of time. You can enjoy the dialogues during the (numerous) cut scenes though. Besides the dialogue system that is supposed to provide you with clues as to what you should be doing next, you have a small notepad. This pad keeps track of your progress and if you`re stuck then a quick look at it will usually solve your problem. The "quests" I was referring to earlier could actually be regarded as one main quest divided into smaller ones, such as recovering your laptop from the wreck of the plane and getting a battery for it. If you`re ever stuck then all of the characters will point you in the right direction, or you can just check your notepad. There are several smaller games that you will have to play to accomplish your goal, but they are pretty easy (except the "fit-the-fuse" game that is very irritating), and I will go into detail about each of them in a moment.
The first mini game you will play takes place right at the end of the tutorial, and is a stupid "follow the dog" run through the jungle. Yay, what fun! Soon afterwards, an eerie cave awaits you, and armed with your trusty torch you must traverse the dark place filled with traps. Does it sound scary? It really isn`t... You only have to take care of your torch, since its running out will mean your death. There are things such as bats and running water that will douse your torch, but you can immediately relight it. Nothing difficult here, if you just watch where you`re going and you don`t end up in a pit.
So, we have the running through the jungle mini game, and the running through the cave mini game. What next? The running through the jungle while avoiding the black smoke part, or course, with a small twist in the form of "others" armed with shotguns. You can avoid the black smoke by entering a clump of sticks and then be on your merry way, so even this isn`t difficult. The last of the "running through the jungle" series of mini games consists of a race against time usually, with logs and branches in your way, and this is the only part of the game where you are allowed to jump or crouch.
The last and the most abused is the "fuse" game, which deserves a paragraph of its own. Whenever you want to fix something (and apparently there are a lot of things that require fixing) you will be taken to the (soon to be) dreaded screen of fuses. You have three types of fuses that can be used to complete a circuit. There is a starting voltage, and each type of fuse decreases the power that comes on the other side and you have to make sure that the voltage received by the machine is correct. There are some machines that have a large leeway when it comes to voltage and others that require a fixed amount. As the game progresses, the difficulty of the circuit boards increases accordingly and in the final parts of the game you will have as much as three switches, all requiring a fixed voltage. While fun in the beginning, this little game was over used and quickly became irritating. The fact that you have to search a lot to find the necessary fuses complicates things even further.
Probably the most enjoyable part of the game is when you have to remember something from your past. Like a true photo journalist, you remember things by taking photos at the right time and at the right angle. This is wonderfully done in black and white at first, turning into full color and sound when you take the right photo. You are given some hints as to what you`re supposed to photograph, but the rest is left up to you, such as finding the correct position for the shot and getting everything in the frame.
The game suffers from a lack of gameplay time and over abuse of mini games, but makes up for this in the graphics department. The jungle looks exceptionally good, everything including the grass and trees looks perfect and the characters graphics are equally impressive. I enjoyed the music, but the sound effects could have used more work. Extra points for presentation, since the game is divided into a number of episodes, each starting with a "Previously on Lost", just like the show and providing a resume of what happened. The ending was great and does leave you "Lost" as to what might be happening next.

Although it does not include all the patch notes, I thought I'd add this now so you get the general idea of what will change in the next major World of Warcraft Patch 2.4.0.

Welcome back, LEGION. Indeed, Joe Kucan is back, portraying the legendary self-proclaimed prophet Kane, through 20 years of Command and Conquer history: past, present and future. The 13 missions spread story explains what happened to the Brotherhood of Nod right after the Second Tiberium War, and fill the history gap left by the original Command and Conquer 3. And then of course some more, the action takes us a bit more into the future, showing just a sneak peak of the shape of things to come.
"A murder?...a suicide?...an accident?...a coincidence?... Follow the evidence and find the moment of truth. It's all about the evidence and more like the show than ever" We'll see...
The stellar "Sins of a Solar Empire" hits our PCs with a unique interesting new combination of game genres and a few cool ideas that should draw the attention of quite a few strategy fans. The newcomer Ironclad Games managed the impossible and created a competitive title indeed. But aside from all the prays and high marks this game received overall, its approach on RTS and the mix of elements it brings, one can find some things that will bother a few players and that will eventually influence the grades of this review. Ok, let's take it from the top.
Sherlock Holmes, the worlds` greatest detective, created by Arthur Conan Doyle is about to face his biggest challenge so far: Arsene Lupin, the worlds` greatest thief, created by Maurice Leblanc. Who is going to win this battle of wits? Who is going to be victorious, and, most importantly, who would you like to see as the winner?
I thought a bit about how to start this. While saying that Silent Hunter IV is the best submarine simulator out there is true, it doesn't mean much, especially for new players. Saying it is one of the best simulator games out there is again accurate, but again, a bit of an understatement. Why? Well because... despite the high complexity and realism involved, Ubisoft Romania managed to develop a game that is appealing to the beginners as well, in a certain degree.
Lineage II had it share of success. At the time the game was released, it was one of the most beautiful MMOG on the market. To take its place as the most beautiful MMOG, the Ragnarok Online (or RO) developers from imcGames created Sword of the New World: Granado Espada.
We were able to take part in 2 battles and what we saw pleased us. The transition to the 3D helped the game and gave it a better view on the battlefield. You can move the camera and this way you get a better look at the action. The units are amazing and their animations are clean and good looking. Same goes for spells and effects: you will love what you see.
Last week I began to search some new independent games. Suddenly I stumbled upon this interesting racing game called Nitro Stunt Racing. The title sounds non-original but the content tends to be if not original, at least interesting.
In a perfect world, everything is controlled by a balance between Chaos and Order. But what happens if things start to get messy and a great evil is about to unleash an epic conflict onto the universe? This is what NCsoft decided to unveil and also explain why Aion is a MMO bound to have success.
So here I am back on the road with a BMW. This time in Race 07 demo. The only racing-simulation game that really impressed me at GC. But only with the help of the Steam client which probably will become the "god" of online distribution! Anyway a big minus for this decision of playing the game only through Steam.
