Print The Hollywood Reporter reveals in an article the fact that Universal won the rights to make a film based on the Atari arcade game Asteroids. The adaptation will be produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, producer on G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. The studio would be creating a plot from scratch, as the classic arcade game from 1979 features no story line, just vector graphics and and a two-dimensional view.

| Machinarium November 3, 2009 Through streams of repetitive and boring products stretched all over the year, if you search enough, you will find small 'artifacts' which can be used to define the video games as a form of modern art. There are few titles to fulfill all the conditions to enter in this category, but Machinarium is one of them.

| Tropico 3 November 2, 2009 There is more than meets the eye about being a dictator in a Caribbean republic, and those willing to experiment this flamboyant universe delivered by Kalypso are in for a big surprise. Tropico 3 is much more than a casual city simulator, adding an exciting political layer on an otherwise excellent strategy game. Amazing graphics and alluring sound effects sugarcoat a demanding gameplay, that has enough depth to make it the best choice for players who can appreciate a top quality title.

them.

| Gratuitous Space Battles October 20, 2009 I've only had the opportunity of testing a pre-release beta
version of Cliff "Cliffski" Harris' Gratuitous Space Battles, but I can tell
you I've had great fun with it. The game is developed for braniacs and lets
your imagination thrive, even if it's a top-down, 2D strategy. Looking forward
to check out multiplayer and the final version.

| World of Warcraft: Cataclysm September 8, 2009 World of Warcraft: Cataclysm promises to be one of the turning points for the Warcraft universe, not only advancing the story and lore, but also offering a new and more beginner friendly experience to new players who are just starting up on the game. That said, it is obvious veteran players haven't been forgotten, and as I've seen from this year's Blizzcon, everyone will be happy to know development work looks quite advanced, and we can probably expect this pack to arrive probably sooner than later.

| Champions Online August 27, 2009 Champions Online is not the only MMO to be released this year, but it is definitely one of the most anticipated ones, following the considerable success of its predecessor: City of Heroes. This latest release from Cryptic Studios will face a fierce competition, but those who are willing to trade a fantasy universe with a more gritty one, without forsaking a quality MMO may find a great alternative in it.
