Print In honor of Halloween, NCsoft is providing its players with additional in-game content and activities to get into the holiday spirit. Along with in-game events, quests, costumes and contests across NCsoft's portfolio of games, including Aion, City of Heroes, Guild Wars, Lineage, Lineage II and Exteel, players will find themselves face-to-face with zombies, werewolves, undead creatures and plenty of other foul dwellers along the way.Below you will find a brief overview of the Halloween activities across NCsoft's portfolio of games.
Aion - Harvest Revel
During
the Fall harvest, the people of Atreia have always celebrated the
bounty of the land. Years ago, the joy of the annual revels was
troubled by an eclipse-a peculiar and magical eclipse that brought
darkness to Asmodae and Elysea. Ever since, for days during Harvest
Revel, the sky goes dark and the people of Atreia join in the hunt.
Asmodians
celebrate the bounty through the Wild Hunt, racing after the Wild
Kurthanir hunt leader and cooking special dishes made from the meat. On
the other side of Atreia, the Elyos encounter undead creatures pulled
back into a semblance of life by the power of the eclipse. Elyos must
join roving Dark Night bands to hunt and destroy the undead before they
invade Elyos villages.
Each day during Harvest Revel players
will be rewarded for their investment with new lore and tasty treats
including a Halloween Hat and candy that will transform players into in
game creatures!

It's Halloween in Tyria, and that means one thing: the return of Mad King Thorn! Similar to years past, the maniacal monarch has come to play, and he's got a bag full of tricks and treats to delight and dismay. But non-tricksters fear not, there are plenty of ways to celebrate Halloween - participate in several special events (a new series of quests and a costume PvP brawl) or explore the decorated cities/towns adorned with Halloween décor.
- Starts: Friday, October 23, 2009
- Ends: Monday, November 2, 2009
Players brace themselves for a new apocalypse as City of Heroes' annual Halloween Event returns with legions of Zombies, Werewolves, Jack-o-Lanterns, and other foul denizens descend upon Paragon City and the Rogue Isles. This year they're bringing even more powerful allies! The new apocalypse is deadlier than ever as mysterious monstrosities join forces with the Eidolons, Shivans, and others. Paragon City and the Rogue Isles are in terrible peril, and only the greatest Heroes and Villains can turn back the tide. The greater the challenge, the greater the reward!
- Starts: Tuesday, October 20, 2009
- Ends: Tuesday, November 3, 2009
Halloween is just around the corner and players can win in-game prizes by showing off their creative holiday spirit. Players are encouraged to create and share their Halloween and/or autumn themed adena art (visual art created by dropping adena on the ground in-game to create an image seen from above.) For those just looking to have fun this Halloween, players can don a "Scarecrow Jack" illusion featuring two animated emotes. Along with the illusion, players will receive 5 revita pops to refill their vitality bars while in game.

- Deadline for art submissions is Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 11:59pm CDT
The Lineage team is hosting the in-game party of all parties this Halloween - costumes not required, but highly encouraged! In addition to free polymorph "costumes," most monsters will drop pumpkin seed, which is redeemable for prizes like a Pinewand to spawn monsters of choice, accessories, and Stat t-shirts from NPCs. No tricks about it, as an added bonus, players will be treated to increased item drops from Bosses. See you at the "Cavern of Chaos!"
- Starts: Wednesday, October 28, 2009
- Ends: Wednesday, November 4, 2009
Smashing pumpkins and bag snatching is easy! Try picking on a Mechanaught your own size, even if it is painted Orange and Purple! Exteel players are encouraged to celebrate this Halloween colorfully with free Orange and Purple paint. But that's not all! Players will receive +50% bonus credits during the week-long Exteel Halloween celebration!

| Shattered Horizon November 18, 2009 While offering no tutorial whatsoever in a relatively new genre of FPS, it appears Shattered Horizon has the right stuff for many shooter fans, with a price per value being one of the most important aspects here. Mind though you will need to see for yourself if this game is for you or if you dislike the 3D environment free movement.

| Star Wars The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition November 17, 2009 Some ports are good, some ports are bad, and some ports are never to be made. I decide to include the PC edition of 'The Force Unleashed' in the latest category simply because it inherits all the bad aspects of the platform edition of the game and it also brings new bugs and other technical problems which are hard to be ignored, even by the most casual gamer.

| League of Legends November 16, 2009 Every now and then somebody comes up with a brilliant idea that shakes the very foundations of the gaming industry, despite having a low budget or an undersized developing team. DotA was such a concept and the result is a game mode that rivals Warcraft 3 in terms of popularity, establishing itself as a landmark in the RTS genre.
Featuring the same solid gameplay without the limitations of the Warcraft engine, League of Legends is undeniably a huge leap forward and probably another massive success.

| Gratuitous Space Battles October 20, 2009 I've only had the opportunity of testing a pre-release beta
version of Cliff "Cliffski" Harris' Gratuitous Space Battles, but I can tell
you I've had great fun with it. The game is developed for braniacs and lets
your imagination thrive, even if it's a top-down, 2D strategy. Looking forward
to check out multiplayer and the final version.

| World of Warcraft: Cataclysm September 8, 2009 World of Warcraft: Cataclysm promises to be one of the turning points for the Warcraft universe, not only advancing the story and lore, but also offering a new and more beginner friendly experience to new players who are just starting up on the game. That said, it is obvious veteran players haven't been forgotten, and as I've seen from this year's Blizzcon, everyone will be happy to know development work looks quite advanced, and we can probably expect this pack to arrive probably sooner than later.

| Champions Online August 27, 2009 Champions Online is not the only MMO to be released this year, but it is definitely one of the most anticipated ones, following the considerable success of its predecessor: City of Heroes. This latest release from Cryptic Studios will face a fierce competition, but those who are willing to trade a fantasy universe with a more gritty one, without forsaking a quality MMO may find a great alternative in it.
