Vancouver 2010
Every two years, our hearts are supposed to be filled by the Olympic spirit, as winter and summer events kick off and the best athletes in the world compete for medals and glory. Videogame developers can't possibly miss such an opportunity to cash in on these sports events, but so far the results have been nothing short of inadequate.

Venetica - Game Review (PC)

Venetica
Some say that fear of death is worst then death itself. Highly debatable as this might be in real life, Venetica leaves no doubt about the validity of this statement, since crossing the border between the two worlds is no longer an irreversible process. The romantic setting of Venice and a delightful main character concur with the thrilling narrative, the result being a highly addictive, good looking RPG, developers Deck 13 can be really proud of.

Dark Void - Game Review (PC)

Dark Void
Capcom decided to bring us a retro-futuristic action-adventure game where the jetpack flight brings the classic ground battles to a new level. Theoretically, from the tactical point of view, you'll get plenty of situations in which the ground and aerial combat demand to be combined in order to achieve an advantage in front of your enemy, but in reality the balance between these two types of combat is broken by a slightly weird physics approach and bad scenario.

Army of Two The 40th Day
The highly anticipated sequel for Army of Two does a great job in preserving those key elements that made the original title so popular, while adding brand new features. The game mechanics were greatly improved and the tactical side shines brighter then ever, ensuring the fact Army of Two the 40th Day is the same fun game to play. Moral decisions add extra flavor to this game that brilliantly succeeds in merging RPG elements with the rock solid shooter core.

PT Boats Knights of the Sea - Game Review (PC)

PT Boats Knights of the Sea
Anticipation is generally a good thing, but when it hits a certain level the results can be devastating, if the object of the eagerness is less then perfect. I've played the preview version of PT Boats: Knights of the Sea and it made such a strong impression on me that I've been waiting for the final product ever since. The result is more then satisfying and although there are still a few issues to be addressed, overall this is an amazingly accurate and exciting naval action simulator.

Assassin's Creed 2 - Game Review (XB360)

Assassinand 039 s Creed 2
Desmond is back, on this second installment of the Assassin's Creed trilogy by Ubisoft. Having relived the most important life moments of his ancestor Altaïr through the Animus, a device that could explore one's  genetic memories, he is starting to get the main idea: Throughout history, there are two major factions fighting to get their hands on special, extremely powerful devices, called Pieces of Eden. These devices allegedly took part in the creation of Earth and mankind, and whoever owns one is almost certain to write an important part of history.

Darksiders
Inspired by the apocalypse and the battle of Armageddon described in the Book of Revelation and featuring one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Darksiders is one of those bloody action-adventure games that bring a strong portion of brutal combat combined with a set of rewarding puzzles.

Devil's Tuning Fork - Game Review (PC)

Deviland 039 s Tuning Fork
There is more to Devil's Tuning Fork than meets the eye ....literally. A bright group of students from Chicago's DePaul University focused their attention on developing an original title, revolving around the fascinating concept of echolocation. The result is nothing short of impressive and proves once more that good games are the result of a brilliant idea and dedication, rather then aggressive marketing and unswerving financing.

Bayonetta - Game Review (XB360)

Bayonetta
There is over the top and then there is Bayonetta. It seems like the game developers tried very hard to take everything to extremes and then push if a bit further, to create the ultimate experience for action games. Moderation is a virtue, but Bayonetta brilliantly succeeds in demolishing this concept by revealing one of the most exciting titles of this genre, with stunning visual effects and a persuasive narrative.

Star Trek Online

What is interesting and unique about STO is that you have two separate stages of gameplay: the space stage - where you command your own starship and use it to fight your way through and investigate various situations, but also to move from one sector of the galaxy to another of course; and the ground stage - where your away team teleports to a planet, station or boards a ship and tries to solve problems more delicately, although most missions still result in firefights to be honest, because well... that's so exciting.  [...]

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm
September 8, 2009
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm promises to be one of the turning points for the Warcraft universe, not only advancing the story and lore, but also offering a new and more beginner friendly experience to new players who are just starting up on the game. That said, it is obvious veteran players haven't been forgotten, and as I've seen from this year's Blizzcon, everyone will be happy to know development work looks quite advanced, and we can probably expect this pack to arrive probably sooner than later.  [...]
