Silent Hunter 4: Pacific U-Boat Missions - Game Review (PC)

Silent Hunter 4 Pacific U Boat Missions
I thought a bit about how to start this. While saying that Silent Hunter IV is the best submarine simulator out there is true, it doesn't mean much, especially for new players. Saying it is one of the best simulator games out there is again accurate, but again, a bit of an understatement. Why? Well because... despite the high complexity and realism involved, Ubisoft Romania managed to develop a game that is appealing to the beginners as well, in a certain degree.

Hard to be a God - Game Review (PC)

Hard to be a God
Knights in shining armor, imposing castles, heretics and the inquisition, everything you would expect from the Middle Ages... and the occasional hero running around in weird armor, brandishing his brand new rocket launcher. Some would say that an RPG that mixes good old fashioned swords with high tech elements like laser guns is a killer combination that is sure to attract a large number of fans, while others remain skeptical. Let`s see if "Hard to be a God" is indeed a revolution for RPG games everywhere, like it was advertised to be.

The Experiment - Game Review (PC)

The Experiment
Known also as Experience 112 in Europe, The Experiment is an adventure game who tries to bring something original in the genre. Developed by Lexis Numerique (also known for In Memoriam 1, 2), the game seems to be a truly experiment in gaming industry. Based on a cliché plot, similar to Lost series, the game brings a new perspective of telling the story. Every event and aspect of the game is happening in front of your eyes, your own persona being used as a catalyst for the story.

Command and Conquer 3 Kaneand 039 s Wrath
Welcome back, LEGION. Indeed, Joe Kucan is back, portraying the legendary self-proclaimed prophet Kane, through 20 years of Command and Conquer history: past, present and future. The 13 missions spread story explains what happened to the Brotherhood of Nod right after the Second Tiberium War, and fill the history gap left by the original Command and Conquer 3. And then of course some more, the action takes us a bit more into the future, showing just a sneak peak of the shape of things to come.

Lost Via Domus
Seeing as "Lost" is one of the most successful shows on air at the moment, it`s not surprising that Ubisoft decided to launch "Lost: Via Domus", to take advantage of the huge number of fans that will buy everything related to the show. Let`s take a look and see if this is a game for everyone, or just for the "die-hard/never miss an episode/sleep with a picture of Kate under my pillow" fans.

Turning Point: Fall of Liberty - Game Review (PC)

Turning Point Fall of Liberty
Sometimes a brilliant idea can insure the success of a poorly designed and rather tedious game and even keep the gamers wired and anxious to see the way the story unfolds. Let's just say this is not going to happen with "Turning Point: Fall of Liberty" which managed to ruin an otherwise fine concept and let down the alternate history enthusiasts who were looking forward to try Codemasters' latest release.

Frontlines Fuel of War
Desert Combat brought Battlefield players the opportunity to wage war in Iraq, as a member of one of the two sides: the Coalition or the Opposition. Kaos takes things a bit further with Frontlines, both in time and technology. It's 2024, and the Western Coalition battles the Red Star Alliance once again for resource control and world domination.

In an age saturated with RPGs, MMORPGs and FPSs there was a dire need for a quality space simulator to fill the gap and provide the hardcore fans of this genre with much needed thrills. 3000AD's Galactic Command: Echo Squad SE does just that, trying to revive what is considered by many people as a dying breed and to keep the dream alive for those dedicated fans that grew up loving and playing space combat games.

Sam and Max 204 Chariots of the Dogs
When you think that you can lay down and rest for a week, you will be surprised by the appearance of a new Sam and Max episode. If you wait for better graphics, or bigger content, you're not in the right place. Telltale Games already found the best recipe for Sam and Max series to show the cartoonish character. And with every new episode their popularity is increasing. So what better thing to do than to continue the series with a new episode. And when the plot is created around the disappearance of Bosco from the face of the Earth, this episode smells like a conspiracy.

Penumbra: Black Plague - Game Review (PC)

Penumbra Black Plague
If you mix ideas from H.P. Lovecraft's writings (for example the Cthulhu mythos), with settings similar to John Carpenter's The Thing, you get Penumbra: Black Plague. With enhanced graphical textures and effects, a much more complete story, and a longer gameplay duration, Black Plague definitely enters in the hall of fame of horror games. It's a game that includes all the key elements for a good horror experience: story, atmosphere, physics, puzzles, and action. For all of you who missed the first part, you should go back and try it. For the others this is a must, because the quality is pretty much increased and is an experience which many of you don't have the guts to complete.

The Bad, the Ugly and the Sober

Litera and Akella bring us back, if only for a little while, to the old days when Adventures and Quest games were the king with their latest Wild Wild West game: The Bad, the Ugly and the Sober. And it's nice to be back! I remember in the old days when I used to spend hours on Lucas Arts games like Day of the Tentacle or Indiana Jones. The Bad, the Ugly and the Sober manages to recreate some of the thrill and excitement of the old school Adventures.  [...]
