F.E.A.R. - Game Review (PC)

F E A R
Monolith, the creators of "No One Lives Forever 1, 2", "Tron 2.0", "Aliens vs. Predator", "Blood" and "Blood II: The Chosen", etc, launched a new FPS with a dark and horror touch named "FEAR". Published by Sierra, after a huge advertising period, the game had every right to become one of the best shooters in 2005. For some game websites, the game really became "the single player shooter of 2005". However, FEAR is actually an example of a mainstream product, a perfect product for the industry of gaming nowadays. Theoretically, it includes the sum of all ingredients to become a perfect game, but like other new creations, F.E.A.R. doesn't succeed to create a new niche because every ingredient is used in a very cheap manner.

CivCity Review - Game Review (PC)

CivCity Review
Caesar was a series very dear to my heart. I played that game over and over again, trying different styles of play. But city simulations in games didn't got limited only to Caesar. Pharaoh, Sim City and Children of the Nile are other city simulations that I played. When I heard that Firefly, the creators of Civilization series, will develop a city simulation, I considered that the gamers will have another good game to play. When you have high hopes, you end up bad. CivCity is a shame. It's a game created for the casual gamer, with no real interest to be a true simulation game.

El Matador - Game Review (PC)

El Matador
Who is El Matador?I had to read the official site to understand what's all about this Matador. The reason why I couldn't find anything is that the story is just an excuse for the whole killing action. The developers (Plastic Reality) decided to quit the idea of a game based on a solid story like Max Payne, and to develop further the action factor. After every mission you just take your new orders and continue to kill drug lords for a better world. You are a DEA agent called Victor Corbet. You are the only hope for the DEA South American branch to neutralize the most powerful drug mafia called La Valedora. These guys killed all the DEA agents from the headquarters and now is time for revenge. You're under the command of Carlos Enterador and Mia Rodriguez who are far from being your friends. You get the message. You are the weapon against the drug mafia and only you can destroy them. With the help of a huge arsenal of weapons, from Luger to UZI and from Kalashnikov to Minigun, you will explore all the mafia's territory with one goal: TO KILL EVERYONE, except the other DEA agents which will assist you in your fight.

Caesar 4 Review
Romans were great people. They managed to create one of the biggest empires in the world. Some of the things that remain from them are the Roman architecture and a practical way of life. Caesar IV will allow you to feel all these in Tilted Mill's latest production. You will be able to govern a province of the Roman Empire and climb the ladder of power and become Caesar itself.

Just Cause Review - Game Review (PC)

Just Cause Review
This was the official name of the United States invasion against Panama in December 1989 to depose the general and de facto military leader Manuel Noriega. Based on four reasons listed by George H. W. Bush: safeguarding the lives of U.S. citizens in Panama, defending democracy and human rights in Panama, combating drug trafficking, protecting the neutrality of the Panama Canal, U.S. declared a state of war against Panama. There is no reason to comment those moments, but this game developed by Avalanche and published by Eidos, was somehow influenced by those events.

Company of Heroes - Game Review (PC)

Company of Heroes
The World War II theme was one of the most used themes for computer games. Games like Battlefield, Blitzkrieg, MOHAA, just to name a few used this theme to create some beautiful games. When a theme is used very much, the gamers tend to disregard the games using the theme. But once in a while, a game comes and brakes this barrier. This time, Company of Heroes is the game guilty of bringing the players attention onto the landing of Normandy and a small chapter from the WW2. Relic started creating interesting strategy games with the first Homeworld episode. Company of Heroes seems to be also a masterpiece product.

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm
September 8, 2009
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm promises to be one of the turning points for the Warcraft universe, not only advancing the story and lore, but also offering a new and more beginner friendly experience to new players who are just starting up on the game. That said, it is obvious veteran players haven't been forgotten, and as I've seen from this year's Blizzcon, everyone will be happy to know development work looks quite advanced, and we can probably expect this pack to arrive probably sooner than later.  [...]

Champions Online is not the only MMO to be released this year, but it is definitely one of the most anticipated ones, following the considerable success of its predecessor: City of Heroes.
