Velvet Assassin - Game Review (PC)

Velvet Assassin
One of the best games I've played in a while, and an unexpected pleasant surprise. Just when I thought summer is coming and there's boredom all around, Summer managed to change my opinion and kept me on the computer for a while longer - Replay Studios' secret agent Violette Summer that is.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena - Game Review (XB360)

The Chronicles of Riddick Assault on Dark Athena
Don't fear the dark, embrace it. This simple line should have been the tagline for Starbreeze's latest release, a game that aims to mark another milestone in the successful franchise that The Chronicles of Riddick stands for. Great expectations sometimes lead to crushing disappointments, and although this is not the case here, many Riddick fans might feel that Assault on Dark Athena is nothing more than a mediocre sequel of Escape from Butcher Bay.

Dark Sector - Game Review (PC)

Dark Sector
In Spring 2008, Digital Extremes released Dark Sector, a third person shooter for XBOX 360 and PS3, which didn't create any revolution in the genre, and was somehow missed by customers because it was not a triple A title. Noviy Disk decided to remake the game for PC and with the help of Aspyr publisher, they released the game after one year, in a favorable period, when everything seems to sleep in the gaming industry. In this way they managed to attract the right audience at the right time and to show the game's right value.

The Last Remnant
There are a lot of cool things in The Last Remnant that make this game worthwhile even with its shortcomings. Brainiacs and classic RPG fans will enjoy tenths of hours of epic gameplay, with meaningful character development, a complex battle system and a fantastic story.

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Patch 3.1 - Secrets of Ulduar - Game Review (PC)

World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King Patch 3 1 Secrets of Ulduar
It's now easier to talk about final thoughts than it was six months ago when I wrote my Lich King review. For me, this patch completes the big picture and makes Wrath of the Lich King a successful addon that raises the bar even higher for future content, but at the same time makes you want to play more, and experience more things the game has to offer.

Demigod - Game Review (PC)

Demigod
Some developers take their chances and attempt to come up with something brand new and appealing, while others focus on some solid concepts which have proven their value before. The idea behind Demigod while not utterly innovative is a strong one, and Gas Powered Games worked wonders in polishing and expanding it into a dynamic title that can rival with any game in this genre.

Braid - Game Review (PC)

Braid
Braid is a complex structure or pattern formed by intertwining three or more strands of flexible material such as textile fibers, wire, or human hair (wiki definition). Braid (the videogame) is a complex 2D platformer that plays with more than three dimensions to create a unique experience for every player. Time is the fourth intertwining thread that brings the game to another level never reached before, in terms of level design, puzzles system and story.

Company of Heroes Tales of Valor - Game Review (PC)

Company of Heroes Tales of Valor
Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor was supposed to be a standalone expansion of the massive success released by Relic in 2006, adding new and exciting features to please the anxious fans waiting for a sequel. While it brilliantly succeeds in capturing that unique fragrance that made the original title on of the best RTS games to date, Tales of Valor is a bit shallow in terms of content.

The Godfather II
In 2006 EA developed and published the first The Godfather videogame based on the 1972 film of the same name. It was a game that was intensively advertised but ended being just another commercial success for the company while for the customers, a low value product.  Such an inspiring film brought an uninspiring videogame which received a sequel this year The Godfather II.

Leisure Suit Larry Box Office Bust - Game Review (PC)

Leisure Suit Larry Box Office Bust
Oh, Larry! What have they done to you! I'm really searching for something positive to say, but I can't find anything, no matter how hard I try. Trashing out a new game is one thing, but literally destroying a twenty year old franchise brings a whole new meaning of the word "bad". Come to think of it, there is one good thing I can say: let's hope someone will make another good Larry game, and this doesn't get dropped like some of those golden old school titles...

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm
September 8, 2009
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm promises to be one of the turning points for the Warcraft universe, not only advancing the story and lore, but also offering a new and more beginner friendly experience to new players who are just starting up on the game. That said, it is obvious veteran players haven't been forgotten, and as I've seen from this year's Blizzcon, everyone will be happy to know development work looks quite advanced, and we can probably expect this pack to arrive probably sooner than later.  [...]

August 27, 2009
Champions Online is not the only MMO to be released this year, but it is definitely one of the most anticipated ones, following the considerable success of its predecessor: City of Heroes. This latest release from Cryptic Studios will face a fierce competition, but those who are willing to trade a fantasy universe with a more gritty one, without forsaking a quality MMO may find a great alternative in it.  [...]
