Desmond is back, on this second installment of the Assassin's Creed trilogy by Ubisoft. Having relived the most important life moments of his ancestor Altaïr through the Animus, a device that could explore one's  genetic memories, he is starting to get the main idea: Throughout history, there are two major factions fighting to get their hands on special, extremely powerful devices, called Pieces of Eden. These devices allegedly took part in the creation of Earth and mankind, and whoever owns one is almost certain to write an important part of history.

Inspired by the apocalypse and the battle of Armageddon described in the Book of Revelation and featuring one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Darksiders is one of those bloody action-adventure games that bring a strong portion of brutal combat combined with a set of rewarding puzzles.

There is over the top and then there is Bayonetta. It seems like the game developers tried very hard to take everything to extremes and then push if a bit further, to create the ultimate experience for action games. Moderation is a virtue, but Bayonetta brilliantly succeeds in demolishing this concept by revealing one of the most exciting titles of this genre, with stunning visual effects and a persuasive narrative.

If you've already seen the movie then don't get you're hopes too high, because Avatar: The Game, is not a mind blowing videogame that will make a long lasting impression, but rather an exciting third person shooter with a witty storyline. If you didn't, then this is probably the best way to get familiar with the astonishing world of Pandora, meet the elusive Na'vi and get a glimpse into the latent conflict, without revealing too much either.

Tekken 6 is the complete fighting experience, offering a challenge to expert and beginner players alike. The game offers an extreme level of customization, tons of options, one the biggest character rosters yet, and many different gameplay modes. If you like fighting games even remotely, you should give this one a chance.

If you have answered with 'yes' to all these questions then you have to play Brutal Legend, an action/strategy game that will fulfill your expectations as a metal music fan and will give you the chance to meet some of your metal gods. If you have answered with 'no', you should not leave, because this game offers enough hack'n'slash moments in an open-world environment to make you scream for pleasure.

It's tough to beat the competition and cruise your way up to the top, but staying there for consecutive years is even harder. 2K Sports did an excellent job by grabbing the first place with its NBA franchise, and as far as I'm concerned NBA 2K10 has all the needed traits to retain the crown as the best basketball simulator of 2009.
