Are you brutal?! Are you metal? Headbanging is your daily routine? You pay homage to the gods of heavy metal? If you have answered with 'yes' to all these questions then you have to play Brutal Legend, an action/strategy game that will fulfill your expectations as a metal music fan and will give you the chance to meet some of your metal gods. If you have answered with 'no', you should not leave, because this game offers enough hack'n'slash moments in an open-world environment to make you scream for pleasure.

It's tough to beat the competition and cruise your way up to the top, but staying there for consecutive years is even harder. 2K Sports did an excellent job by grabbing the first place with its NBA franchise, and as far as I'm concerned NBA 2K10 has all the needed traits to retain the crown as the best basketball simulator of 2009.

Rubi Malone is an awesomely cool character, and WET can be a great action game experience at times. But there are some things that don't quite add up. There are many many cool moments to be lived in-game, but when combined, or when transitioning from one to another, they feel less than the sum of their parts. You always get that feeling: "man, I did like that last zone, but what the heck am I doing here now?!".

DiRT 2, the last addition in Colin McRae off-road racing series, brings a scalable difficulty level becoming a product worth playing by most of the casual gamers. With a long but addictive singleplayer career and a whole new multiplayer mode this game can easily be considered one of the best games of this genre. But I have some mixed feelings about it.

Section 8 is by no means a videogame pretending to revolve around a solid, cohesive storyline that will inspire players and make a long lasting impression. Instead, Timegate focused on delivering a competent shooter featuring intricate, yet alluring gameplay that should make it a fun game,- with a challenging multiplayer. The result is nothing short of spectacular and this highly anticipated title has a good chance of catching the eye of the more savvy consumers, who can appreciate a quality sci-fi FPS.

Either you are a Batman fan or not, Batman: Arkham Asylum is a "must have". Combining fast paced melee combat with stealth elements and introducing most of the classical characters from Batman's universe (either from cartoons or animated movies) this game surpasses most of the expectations and can be easily considered one of the best action games of this year.

Once again agent Blazkowicz saves the world from a threat of huge, paranormal proportions. He should star in Ghost Busters or something. It proves that he was the man who single-handedly turned the World War II tide in favor of the Allies and as we will probably find out in a future episode, will win the war for them. Seriously though, the new Wolfenstein that they couldn't find an appropriate name for is a pretty decent game, a nice shooter, that has many fun elements and it grows on you. Only downside is that it hasn't much to do with the ol' Wolf 3D game, so some old school gamers may end up a little disappointed.

Remember MINICLIP, RedLynx and their flash-game Trials? If yes, then you are one of those who spent a lot of their office time playing those killer-boredom games. Welcome to a game where all you have to do is to fight for a better high score by handling your off-road motorcycle through impossible obstacles.

Baseball is one of the most popular sports in the US, but translating it into a dynamic and exciting videogame is a bit of a gamble, given its rather static nature. 2K Sports brilliantly succeeds in capturing the very fragrance of baseball, without turning the entire gaming experience into a tedious one, delivering the perfect mix between arcade fun and realism. Those hoping for an 100% accurate simulator may be slightly disappointed, but otherwise The Bigs 2 is simply the best baseball game available.

Fight Night Round 3 was widely regarded as the best boxing videogame of all time, so coming up with an improved title was quite an ambitious project for EA Studios. The latest installment surpassed even the most optimistic forecasts, introducing a more intuitive control system, stunning visuals and flawless animations . Despite minor setbacks, Fight Night Round 4 is a solid hit, allowing gamers to get as close to real thing as it gets, without the risk of getting injured in the ring.
