Team Fortress 2 - Game Review (PC)

Print Speaking of the Demoman, he plays with grenades and bombs. As a child he wanted to be a pirate, therefore he’s dressed with a skull cap on his head, has a pirate eye patch and as a melee weapon he holds a scotch bottle. He has a Scottish accent and he’s the only black character in the game. Ever saw a black Scottish playing with grenades? Stay away from them. The Demoman can jump higher if he puts a sticky bomb beneath his feet. His weapons are Grenade Launcher, Sticky Bombs and the Scotch battle.
The Heavy is the main tanker of the game. Has the most hit-points, but he moves really slow. This is probably because of the heavy minigun he carries. He talks with a Russian accent and is really in-love with his minigun. Watch him here. He makes a good pair with the medic, which can heal him and still be covered behind the massive body of the “tanker”. The mini-gun is a short range weapon because it lacks the accuracy, it needs loading time to fire but it has massive damage. Besides that, a shotgun and his bare hands are the rest of Heavy’s weapon arsenal.
We have the Engineer that is for support and defense. He can build sentries that can be upgraded with miniguns and rocket launcher, transporters which teleports teammates closer to the enemy base and he can also build a dispenser. The dispenser refills hit-points, ammo and metal (for engineers only). In order to build or repair any structure, the engineer needs metal which can be collected by picking up a fallen player’s weapon, power-ups, metal from destroyed structures or get to a dispenser. If you decide to change class, all your structures are destroyed.
For building/repairing he uses a monkey wrench that serves as a melee weapon also. He has a shotgun and a pistol to take care of “the other matters” in Texan ways.
For healing we have the Medic which is equipped with a healing gun able to boost player’s health up to 150%. Healing players will increase the Ubercharge, which fully charged and activated grants the medic and another player 10 seconds of invulnerability. When healing players he also does a little healing on himself. Having a German accent, “the doctor” also has a flechette that fires syringes and bonesaw as melee weapon. The medic is the second in speed after the scout, and is efficiently when teaming up with a Heavy or Soldier.
For ranged combat, the Sniper is the best class for this. He holds a sniper rifle that can instantly kill any foe with a head shot. There is also a power bar that gets charged when looking thru the scope. The more is charged, more damage you do to the target. The sniper looks like an Australian hunter with Havana clothing and smoked glasses. For close combat he uses a submachine gun and a machete.
Finally there’s the Spy which is probably the most fun class to play with. Dressed in a suit wearing the team colors and always having a cigarette in his mouth, the spy can disguise himself, cloak, scramble devices and backstab opponents. The spy can disguise into any enemy class, randomly getting an opponent’s name. When disguised, the allies see him wearing a paper mask over his face with the specific class, with the cigar piercing thru. You can easily spot a Spy, either if someone comes to you having the same name, or by shooting your own team mates. The friendly fire is disabled so usually everyone shoots everybody to check for spies. Being a spy, you can cloak up to ten seconds, time in which you cannot attack but you can disguise yourself and the other way around. The cloak is interrupted of someone shoots in at you, get on fire thanks to the Pyro or run into an enemy and make direct contact. You can also scramble the Engineer’s structures and in time if not repaired it will blow up. It’s very fun to see the opponents passing near you and then you stab them in the back. Like I said before, this is the funniest class in all the game.
Team Fortress 2 is a very catchy game because of these little things that makes a character unique. You don’t start to yell if you die. You get pick another class wait for the right time to “return the favor”. Another cool aspect of the game is that when you die, a camera is making a close-up snapshot with the guy who killed you. At that point you can take a picture of the offender. As you die, you don’t immediately spawn back, but you have to wait about 10 seconds, sometime less, meanwhile you can watch the other team-mates and choose if you want to change class or not.

Although it does not include all the patch notes, I thought I'd add this now so you get the general idea of what will change in the next major World of Warcraft Patch 2.4.0.

Welcome back, LEGION. Indeed, Joe Kucan is back, portraying the legendary self-proclaimed prophet Kane, through 20 years of Command and Conquer history: past, present and future. The 13 missions spread story explains what happened to the Brotherhood of Nod right after the Second Tiberium War, and fill the history gap left by the original Command and Conquer 3. And then of course some more, the action takes us a bit more into the future, showing just a sneak peak of the shape of things to come.
"A murder?...a suicide?...an accident?...a coincidence?... Follow the evidence and find the moment of truth. It's all about the evidence and more like the show than ever" We'll see...
The stellar "Sins of a Solar Empire" hits our PCs with a unique interesting new combination of game genres and a few cool ideas that should draw the attention of quite a few strategy fans. The newcomer Ironclad Games managed the impossible and created a competitive title indeed. But aside from all the prays and high marks this game received overall, its approach on RTS and the mix of elements it brings, one can find some things that will bother a few players and that will eventually influence the grades of this review. Ok, let's take it from the top.
Sherlock Holmes, the worlds` greatest detective, created by Arthur Conan Doyle is about to face his biggest challenge so far: Arsene Lupin, the worlds` greatest thief, created by Maurice Leblanc. Who is going to win this battle of wits? Who is going to be victorious, and, most importantly, who would you like to see as the winner?
I thought a bit about how to start this. While saying that Silent Hunter IV is the best submarine simulator out there is true, it doesn't mean much, especially for new players. Saying it is one of the best simulator games out there is again accurate, but again, a bit of an understatement. Why? Well because... despite the high complexity and realism involved, Ubisoft Romania managed to develop a game that is appealing to the beginners as well, in a certain degree.
Lineage II had it share of success. At the time the game was released, it was one of the most beautiful MMOG on the market. To take its place as the most beautiful MMOG, the Ragnarok Online (or RO) developers from imcGames created Sword of the New World: Granado Espada.
We were able to take part in 2 battles and what we saw pleased us. The transition to the 3D helped the game and gave it a better view on the battlefield. You can move the camera and this way you get a better look at the action. The units are amazing and their animations are clean and good looking. Same goes for spells and effects: you will love what you see.
Last week I began to search some new independent games. Suddenly I stumbled upon this interesting racing game called Nitro Stunt Racing. The title sounds non-original but the content tends to be if not original, at least interesting.
In a perfect world, everything is controlled by a balance between Chaos and Order. But what happens if things start to get messy and a great evil is about to unleash an epic conflict onto the universe? This is what NCsoft decided to unveil and also explain why Aion is a MMO bound to have success.
So here I am back on the road with a BMW. This time in Race 07 demo. The only racing-simulation game that really impressed me at GC. But only with the help of the Steam client which probably will become the "god" of online distribution! Anyway a big minus for this decision of playing the game only through Steam.
