Print Almost a year after the release the first Guild 2, JoWood made available an expansionpack. Named The Guild 2 - Pirates of the European Seas, this expansion features a new area, the Northern Europe seas and a campaign that adds more than 10 hours of gameplay.
If you want more, two new professions will be available so you will get a chance to replay the game with a new character.
After this short description, let's see what the developers had in mind for us and what they packed into the demo.
First I will tell you that you will be able to play for a short time and only with the rogue class. Male or female, you will have the chance to meet the town of Danzig.
The goal of the game is to try to get to the top of the social pyramid. There are three positions in the demo that can be occupied. The mayor, the mediator and of course, the head of the militia. Each of this position brings you different advantages. To be elected to such a position you must first be elected which means that you must have some supporters.
You start with 4000 gold and it's up to you how you spend the goldies. Building houses, shops (depending on your class of course), selling and buying goods, you have no rules. Just try to climb the ladder as you see fit.
As you gain money you will be able to upgrade your buildings, to hire more people, in other words to increase your status. You can even expand you area of business. You can climb the political ladder, bribe or assassinate people, prosecute people in court, marry, have children, steal, plunder, duel enemies, and participate in a number of other exercises to incur favor with people or gain an advantage. All these assure us that the expansion will have varied gameplay styles and good replayability with all the different tactics available.
Both the graphics and sounds are excellent. You can see the trees, watch the fish in the water, the ships loading and unloading goods, all in a beautifully rendered environment.
For what I've seen so far I can tell you that this will be an interesting game to play.
