Gameplay: 80

Some of you will consider that this is a high note, but the game is so easy to play, and so addictive, that anyone can try it. The arcade style moulds on every game style. At first I thought this game will be played only by sport fans, but after a couple of hours of continues play I changed my mind. This game is definitely for everybody. The gameplay is very easily compared to a breakout game (remember Arkanoid), but everything resumes to the tennis court.

Graphics: 82

Best graphics seen in a tennis game. Sega really took in consideration every graphical detail of a tennis court. Every type of ground is represented like in real life. The ball marks the spot where it lands if the ground is out of slag, and the grass courts are bald in middle like at the Wimbledon. In closed arenas, every character has his shadow spotted in four angles, because of the huge light projectors used to illuminate the court.

Following the actual trend of sport games, Sega recreated the faces of the players as realistic as possible. But if you don't install the latest official patch, some faces will be bad renderized.

Multiplayer: 81

The multiplayer mode is the same as in the XBOX 360 version. Supports up to four players in a single match.

Sound: 77

Sega was known for its arcade games in the past. But there is no reason to stick to the same music tracks as in the 80's. You still thing that you play on an old Sega console and hear the same boring midi playlist. Good thing is that the sound effects are ok. But how many environmental sounds are in a tennis match? Not many. So the conclusion is that the sounds register is poor, although it is simulated quite well.

Hardware: 80

Virtua Tennis 3 needs medium hardware requirements. But 3.9 GB of disk space is a little bit too much, compared to the game's content. Without the latest official patch installed, the game has some graphical bugs (the faces of some players have weird textures in the replay scenes).

If you use the Alt-Tab function, the game loses textures from the head of your character. Thumb up for the fast loading times.
