Heya guys i really need your help in this one .I have a 6600 GT TDH EXTREAM video card .When i bought it it was a great video card but in those days when you need a small nuclear plant  Laugh Laugh Laugh in order to be able to play the game on normal or normal combined with high details my "grandmma' video " is out of limits. Cry Cry .My main board have the SLI mode thank God for that and i was thinking about these combinations :

1 - to by a 6600 equal to the one i have  , because to by another one is very cheap but i don't know if they will make some difference in a true way.A difference will be but i don't know how big.

2-to by 2  - 7600 - that would prove a little costly but there will be a much bigger difference regarding the performance , but it will be a very good balance between cost/performance

3- to by a  WinFast PX8600 GTS TDH Extreme only one because of the price  .But i have a problem , I was told that this video card compared to 6600 at its time and the 7600 is crap.Is that true ? I just find it hard to believe.

4- and i was thinking about 7900  to

So if you can help me please do because i really need the advice of a true profesional.

 Peace out all.

Hey. I would recommend buying the 8600gts if you can't afford an 8800gt or gts card. Two 6600gt are certainly not worth it, as they are pretty old and the SLI mode will only provide benefit in some games. The performance difference between the 6600gt and the 7600gt isn't as big as you might think, so that's not worth it either. The 8600gts is a lot more powerful then either of those cards and will provide support for Direct X 10 effects. Instead of getting a 7900, which is a good card but getting old, it would be better if you saved some money and bought the 8800gts.

The new series of 8800GT is better than 8800GTS. It has a newer chip which is based on 65mn fabrication process. It pulls better @ lower power consumption than a current 8800GTS which is a 90mn chip. The future 8800GTS with 65mn chips is going to be better than 8800GT, but till then, the GT is the real alternative to the weaker 8600GTS.

Hopefully the prices for 8800GT will go down. Hint: Gigabyte has a very cheap 8800GT/512MB card, around 18-20% less than the rest of the competitors. The only downside is the less than average cooling system, so you would need a well aired case if you're looking forward to buy this product. Anyway, a Accelero S1 is a good alternative. A dude from another form has this card with a semi-fanless Accelero S1 (he uses a 120mm fan which is almost dead silent). The price for this solution is quite decent, and even a Gigabyte + Acc S1 is still cheaper than the rest of the 8800GT cards.
