The year is 2014. In Mexico, a revolution is about to start and when things go wild, it's time that Captain Scott Mitchel and his team of heavily trained soldiers called “Ghosts” to step in and clean the mess. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 which is a sequel to the first GRAW, will take place on the border of Mexico and United States in El Paso, Texas.

In the beginning of the missions, you must choose your comrades, each having their own skills that will influent the mission outcome in one way or another. You can choose from rifleman, gunner, grenadier and a helpful medic that will treat anyone injured on the battlefield. The weapon arsenal is huge, all kind of assault rifles, sniper rifles, machine or submachine guns and heat-seeking missiles.

The missions, in which you can play solo or with your team mates are full of action with the desert dust and harsh winds blowing, changing the combat conditions, that will require you to play considering the weather changing effects and the day/night cycle. A lot of effort was put into this game, and the AI is surely better than the first GRAW. Still, the enemies are not that scary in manner of tactics and you can go kill them easily even on a harder level of difficulty. Your team mates are helpful enough to give you all kind of information about the battlefield and spotted enemies, but sometimes they lack in coordination. Personally, I put them somewhere safe and go solo behind enemy lines. The best part is when you start shooting all the bad guys from your Blackhawk helicopter with the minigun attached, creating havok into enemy lines. You can also call in reinforcements like bombers to take out armors or heavily defended positions to clear your path to the objective.

If you play with your Ghost team, the new and improved Cross-Com 2.0 will give you almost total control of the battleground. In the left-top corner a window with the team status is available and pressing RB gives you the ability to see the battle from your team's eyes. Using Cross-Com 2.0 will allow unprecedented precision in developing and issuing tactical plans on the battlefield. Another new addition is the MULE, an armored vehicle that allows you to change or refill your weapons and grenades. For reconnaissance, you have the UAV (a flying drone) that will scout the area for enemies and give information about the paths you can choose.

In the multiplayer mode, there's some of the same modes the first GRAW featured but with a better gameplay. Co-op matches contains up to 16 players and 6 large maps that is going to please the hardcore fans of the game. Team objectives, solo elimination, co-op tactics and many more will give you the ability to show your skills to the world. Depending of game mode, type and restrictions it's best to use everything to your and your team's advantage, if you want to leave victorious from the battlefield.

Gameplay: 86

The immersive gameplay will keep your eyes open with its challenging missions but lacks a bit on AI even on harder levels of difficulty. The story is set in the same dusty desert that seems to be the favorite battleground for tactical shooters chose by game developers. Also, a big thumb up for the new drone called MULE that refills your ammo and life, also for the scouting drone, which is now a lot easier to control, therefore a much more fluid gameplay.

Graphics: 95

Like I said before, a lot of hard work was put into the game development and all the explosions or smoke effects look blazing real. The background animations, lightning effects, every single texture and the rest of the cutting-edge visuals are rendered to the last detail which gives you, the player, the feeling of involvement and placement in the heat of the battle.

Sound: 88

The music is intense when in combat and slow when in recon, but it surely does its job. The explosions, gun fire, voices and the rest of the FX sound good but if you really want to play this game properly, you'd better own a 5.1 surround system. You will see the difference.

Multiplayer: 91

Having a stronger gameplay, the multiplayer is always there for you. Lots of game modes and players, experienced players that will give you a hard time if you want to win the round. The maps and game styles offers a bit of everything for everyone, leaving nothing else to complain about.
