Running With Scissors, developer of the long-running POSTAL franchise, has announced a distribution deal with DRM-free game site, GOG.com. GOG sells games without copyright protection as part of the DRM-free digital distribution movement that has had such a significant impact on the software industry.

The deal will bring POSTAL: Classic & Uncut (including the Special Delivery pack) and POSTAL 2, along with its retinue of Expansion Packs as well as other bonus items to the game site. All POSTAL games are compatible with Windows Vista and XP formats but you must be at least 18 years old to participate.

The original POSTAL was recently named among the ten most controversial video games of all time by a Yahoo survey. Its sequels, meanwhile, are first person shooters designed with more in mind than just bashing characters with a shovel or making use of the infamous "cat silencer" (wonderful as those things may be).

"The game's politically incorrect humor is what has kept this franchise going for 11 years," RWS Instigator-in-Chief, Vince Desi attested. "There are a lot of violent first-person shooters out there, but we're still standing because we make people laugh in addition to providing them with a first-rate shooter. We also like this deal with GOG.com as it gives more people the opportunity to get onboard the POSTAL express. And besides, it's whatRunning With Scissors is all about - freedom of expression."

Adam Oldakowski, Managing Director of GOG.com, agreed. "Running With Scissors is a group of funny and crazy people, and maybe that's why everything's gone so smoothly with this deal." Adam also pointed out that this is a great opportunity for gamers who were too young to play these games when they were first released to see what all the shouting was about.

Other recent POSTAL-based products include an excellent Postal Babes mobile game and a Special Edition of Uwe Boll's outrageous film version of "Postal" which is now available on DVD.
