Among the big publishers and developers at GC, Akella was able to have a booth of its own. As a small publisher/developer, they didn't have the opportunity to have something too fancy but they came up with some of their games, and Disciples 3: Renaissance was present.

While the game was still on an early alpha stage, we were able to play it a bit and get some details.

In this chapter, we will have the Empire, the Elves and the Demons as playable races. The Dwarves will also be present but as a computer controlled faction. No word on the Undead yet unfortunately.

Disciples 3 uses a completely new engine and I must confess that the game looks very fresh. The graphics received a facelift and it's now got some new shaders and bigger texture maps, all making it look much better than ever before.

The units were also redesigned as the developers wanted to make them as realistic as possible. They managed that in a certain degree, but as the game is still in an early stage of development we weren't able to see much.

We were able to take part in 2 battles and what we saw pleased us. The transition to the 3D helped the game and gave it a better view on the battlefield. You can move the camera and this way you get a better look at the action. The units are amazing and their animations are clean and good looking. Same goes for spells and effects: you will love what you see.

The demo was very short as it ended very quickly. We were hungry for some more and Akella promised a new build of the game very soon. So stick with us!
