In the demo you will be able to race on two tracks: Anderstorp and Brands Hatch. Three cars are at your disposal: BMW 320, Seat Leon, and a F3000 mono-post.
The three cars are perfectly chosen for the demo because their handling is very different, so the gamer can test all the physics present here. The Seat Leon is a front wheel drive vehicle like all the majority in WTCC, so you will struggle a lot in getting grip as you accelerate out of the corners and you will fight with the understeer effect. On the other hand, the BMW 320 is the opposite of Seat. It's the only car in WTCC with rear-wheel traction, so you have to handle it with care out of the curves, as it tends to oversteer. But it's far more powerful than Seat. If you play on Pro Realism level, and you make a strong brake-engine maneuver, the BMW tends to block the rear wheels, so you will get in to a fast spin without control. The F3000 car based on a Lola chassis, handles as formula 1 car, with a huge acceleration. On wet races, you have to control your acceleration level, otherwise the car can spin the wheels even in the fourth gear. Seems that this car is the most challenging from the whole demo, so watch out for it.
The fun comes in the the Semi Pro and Pro level of realism if you happen to have a wheel. The cars respond to every road hump and to every "journey" out of the circuit. The damage system exists but is still unrealistic like in the first version of the game. Even on 100 % damage realism you have to hit extremely hard another car or the wall in order to have some damage at your car. Visually is far from what today the racing games has to offer. Some bending metal and the losing of the front or back hood are elements of damage physics. See movie as an example.
The graphic engine is the same used as in Race or GTR 2 but with slightly improvements. A higher level of antialiasing, and some more shaders are the only new elements. A nice visual trick is the heating effect of the exhaust system and the flames that are bursting out of it. The cars are still very well represented, with high level details for the best visual experience outside the car.
While the graphics didn't make a huge improvement, the sound is amazing. The audio tone of the engine is different between the inside of the car view and outside view. You can hear every moan and roar of the engine while doing extremely maneuvers.
The demo version includes also a multiplayer mode, but at this moment seems that the community is not very big. But the servers are there, so you won't be alone
