Ok, here's the deal. Fast forward, rewind, pause and… let's play.

If you guys saw the demo that was release last year (*hint* available for download from our site), I bet many of you thought this game has potential. After 3 years of work, Timeshift had to change the publisher from Atari to Sierra last year and the team lead by Kyle Peschel had 1 year to give it a face-lift. And they succeeded at doing what they do best.

The story is more complex than it was before, and although the gameplay is still linear, you decide how you're going to complete the tasks. It is said that when the first time-travel suit was developed, Krone, that's the name of the character who tested it, went back in the past and changed it to his own destiny, becoming an evil leader. You put a beta-suit on, and jump in time to go after Krone. But your suit malfunctions and you're stuck into this world, where you join the rebels and fight Krone. When your suit tries to repair itself, you get all these new abilities allowing you to completely stop time and kill your foes (you can even disarm enemies, leaving them confused for a second), you can dodge bullets this way (Matrix style) or just let yourself amazed by the rain droplets moving slowly towards the ground, but you'll forget about the bullets heading your way and will get hit.

The beta-suit has a new feature: an A.I. of its own called S.A.M. (Strategic Systems for Adaptable Metacognition) that chooses the best timeshifting power depending on the situation. The timeshifting abilities are not only used for a better and complex combat experience but are also part of the rest of the game and how you interact with the environment. There are some situations that may require you to reverse time, because a hallway you must go on starts exploding; just hit rewind and everything around you will go back in time. The time-shifting abilities only affects others and the environment, while everything is on pause or going back you can still move normally.

Graphically speaking, the game is looking a whole lot better than before, with a darker touch for more intensive gameplay. The team has put a lot of effort to build everything almost from scratch and take full advantage of what the next-gen console has to offer.

The multiplayer seems to be a lot of fun, the basic types of games being deathmatch, team deathmatch and capture the flag but more types that we haven't got much information on. Developers though it would be nice to give the players the options to change the match settings like gravity, one-hit kill, weapon availability and more. I guess the best part is using time grenades. Depending on how much time energy you have, you can use grenades to slow others (little energy) freeze them (medium energy) and shield yourself against time grenades.

Timeshift is going to be a huge blast on the FPS market through its innovative ideas, advanced graphics, fun and immersive gameplay.
